Obey Alliance mid laner PrettyPriMe announced in a TwitLonger that he will not be able to attend the placement round, and possibly the main event, of this year’s SMITE World Championship.
According to PriMe, the due date of his daughter is too close to the start date of the LAN for him to be able to make it.
PriMe joked that he would feel worse missing the birth of his child “more than [he] would regret coming second again.” PriMe was on teams that took second place in both the 2015 and 2017 SMITE World Championships.
Phlippo, from SMITE Minor League team Stellar, will fill in for PrettyPriMe, who PriMe says the team has practiced with “on and off.”
“[I] am confident that they can make it to [W]orlds even if [I’]m not there[,] and Phlippo will pop off,” PriMe said in the TwitLonger.
The group stages for this year’s SMITE World Championship begin on Nov. 5 with the main event set to start Nov. 16 at the Hi-Rez Expo at DreamHack Atlanta.
